Errors and Omissions Liability Insurance
In accordance with Section 15 of the Licensed Practical Nurses Regulations, all practical nurses in Prince Edward Island are required to provide evidence of professional liability insurance. Liability insurance protects the public by ensuring they have recourse in the event of an error or omission. For this reason, the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Prince Edward Island purchases insurance on behalf of its members. The cost of this insurance is included in annual registration fees.
Any questions or requests for further information about the program should be directed to the insurance provider.
Additionally, LPNs who work in independent practice are advised to consult an insurance provider to determine what additional coverage is required.
